1. Introduction
We respect your privacy and keep data collection to the minimum needed to run CollectShare.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, transfer and disclose data when you use the CollectShare mobile app (the "App") and when you interact with us (e.g., support requests). It also outlines your choices and rights.
Who we are.
This Privacy Policy is between you and CollectShare, operated by Wu, Ming-Shian as an independent developer, or its successor legal entity once incorporated (hereinafter referred to as "CollectShare," "we," "us," or "our").

2. What data we collect
CollectShare is designed to keep your saved content private on your device. We do not upload the links you save, your screenshots/OCR text, or your personal notes to our servers.
We only keep a small set of account and subscription metadata in our cloud database.

We do not collect: your saved links, captured screenshots, OCR text, personal notes, browsing history, location, contacts, photos, or microphone/camera data (beyond what your OS uses to make a screenshot you trigger). All saved content remains on-device unless and until we add an explicit, opt-in cloud sync feature in the future (if we do, we will update this notice first).

Note on on-device content. Your saved links, screenshots/OCR text, and notes are processed locally on your device to power search, tagging, and offline access. We don't see or receive that content.
4. Who we disclose your data to
We don't sell your personal data. We share only what's necessary to run the service, under contracts that require partners to protect your data.

Aggregated data. We may publish non-identifying aggregate statistics (e.g., app install counts) that cannot identify you.
Special circumstances. We may disclose data if required by law, to protect our service, with your permission, or as part of a business transaction (e.g., merger or acquisition).
5. Storage, security, retention, deletion
- Storage & security. Account data is stored in Firebase/Firestore with access controlled by security rules so only the signed-in user can read/write their own record. Transport is encrypted (TLS); data at rest is encrypted by Google Cloud.
- On-device content. Your saved links, screenshots/OCR text, and notes remain on your device. You control them (delete from in-app settings or by uninstalling the App).
- Retention. We keep account/subscription records while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your cloud record; we may retain minimal records (e.g., transaction logs) for up to 12 months to resolve chargebacks, prevent fraud, or meet legal/accounting obligations.
- Deletion. You can request account deletion via in-app settings or by contacting us. Purchase history remains with the applicable app marketplace provider and your marketplace account.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, portability, and withdraw consent.
- Access. You can contact us to request a copy of the account metadata we hold about you (email, Firebase Authentication UID, subscription info). For technical records such as purchase identifiers received from the applicable app marketplace provider, we may provide a summary of your subscription status rather than the raw identifier values, as these tokens are system-generated and have no practical use outside of subscription validation.
- Correction. Your account email is tied to the identity provider (for example, Apple, Google, or another supported identity provider) used at sign-in and cannot be changed within CollectShare. If you need to update your email, you must do so with your identity provider.
- Deletion. You can delete your account directly in the App. If you cannot access the App, you may also request deletion by contacting us at support@collectshare.app. We will delete your Firestore record. On-device content remains only on your device, under your control.
- Consent. Currently, CollectShare does not send marketing emails or collect additional data requiring consent. If in the future we introduce features that involve optional data collection, we will request your explicit consent before doing so.
- Complaints. You can contact your local data protection authority if you believe your rights were infringed.
7. Children's privacy
CollectShare may be listed as rated 4+ on some app stores (a content rating). However, CollectShare is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law, e.g., 16 in some regions), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from such children.
Since the App does not require users to submit names, addresses, or other profile information, and all saved content (links, notes, screenshots) stays on the device, we believe the risk of collecting children's personal data is minimal.
If you are under the applicable minimum age, please do not create an account or use the Services. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete such data as quickly as possible. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal data may contact us at support@collectshare.app to request deletion.
8. International transfers
We use Google Cloud (Firebase/Firestore). Your account data may be stored and processed in the region we configure (currently EU region). Where applicable, we rely on Google's data protection measures and standard contractual clauses to protect international transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (e.g., if we add an optional cloud sync feature). We'll notify you in the App and, if we have your email, by email. Your continued use of CollectShare after updates constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
